On September 28, 2006 Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Florida lost a great K9 Deputy Matt Williams and his partner K9 DiOGi. LEO members fired 110 rounds at the suspect hitting him 68 times after one of the largest man hunts in our County's history. We lost not only a great K9 handler, but also a husband, father, son and brother. I had the honor of being able to call him my friend & co-worker. When the news media ask Sheriff Judd why did we shoot him 68 times his quote was:
Why did you shoot him 68 times? "Because we ran out of bullets.”
